Shawna Anderson began her professional career in the horse business boarding, managing, and training Thoroughbred race horses at the age of 15. She went on to get her NYS race horse trainers licence and also started training and showing pleasure and show hunters.

Her skills took her to Millbrook, NY where she rode and trained for many different people and even got the experience of fox hunting and eventing.  Since moving to Wappingers Falls she has focused her time and energy on creating a fun and safe training environment where horse and rider become the best team they can possibly be.

Wether you just want to ride for fun or go into the show ring, we can accommodate you.  We will talk about where you want to take your equestrian endeavors and we will work together to get you there.  There is never any pressure placed on a rider or horse to do anything they are not comfortable doing.

Everything you do should be fun and rewarding for both rider and steed, and that is our focus at Southern Dutchess Equestrian Center.
